Expedited Approval of Architectural Plans and Specifications Service
Effective July 8, 2019, Expedited Approval of Architectural Plans and Specifications Services will be available through a Vendor approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Division of Licensing Services, Health Care Institution Licensing.
A person applying for an initial health care institution license or licensee of a health care institution that is required to comply with any of the physical plant codes and standards incorporated by reference in A.A.C R9-1-412 can choose to independently contract with Bureau Veritas instead of using the Department’s Physical Plant Licensing staff to perform the Substantive Review of the documents submitted with the application to demonstrate that the project described on the application complies with applicable codes and standards incorporated by reference in A.A.C. R9-1-412.
If you choose to use Bureau Veritas, please notify the Department when you submit the Architectural Plan and Specifications application. Once the Administrative Review of the application is completed by the Department, the application including required documents will be forwarded to Bureau Veritas for completion of the Substantive Review which includes validation that the documents submitted with the application are in compliance with the health and safety codes and standards required by Arizona Administrative Rules found in R9-1-412. Once the Substantive Review is completed and found to be in compliance, Bureau Veritas will return the completed application and documents to the Department for processing to the appropriate Licensing Bureau who will continue the Licensing process.
